Words of Wisdom

Today is Thursday, May 22nd. I have been placing many powerful words on my heart this week. The bible verse from Isaiah 40:31 speaks to my heart. My life is wonderful and very full to overflowing with mothering, to do lists, housework and homemaker projects. My energy level and strength are daily challenged by my very busy life. Isaiah 40:31 holds a wonderful promise from God.

They who wait for the Lord
shall renew their strength,
they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
they shall run and not be weary,
they shall walk and not faint.

These are very powerful words indeed!

I often become very overwhelmed with all that must be done, all I would love to do for my family and of course the housework. I see it as a whole. I become befuddled and exhausted in my thinking of where I should even begin. Many times I am stressed out by the clutter in my house and my long to do lists.
Just yesterday some wonderful words of practical wisdom crossed my path. The finely written words of Mark Twain came down from the ages and landed on the Coffee News I picked up on impulse at an eatery at Sunday brunch.

"The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of
getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one."- Mark Twain

This wonderful advice is very practical and oh so true. I will apply this wisdom to my homemaking project.
Now I am starting today to totally declutter my home. Room by room I am throwing out or donating the items that do not bless our home or family. ( Home blessing direction from
FlyLady). This endeavor will be months in accomplishing. I will share my achievements as I declutter.

The Hope Filled Homemaker

Today I am a very hope filled homemaker. I have big plans and dreams for my home. I have once again picked up and read my wonderful worn copy of Sink Reflections by Marla Cilley. I love this book for so many reasons. It is a book of hope and great encouragement. Sink Reflections is a book that teaches the fine art of homemaking in a very fun and refresing way. I read a chapter at a time as I clean and declutter my home. Marla's main message to her readers is that one needs to build up habits in housekeeping one habit at a time. She encourages her Flybabies to work for 15 minutes at a time by setting a timer and being focussed. It is a wonderful plan that works beautifully for me.

Focus, Focus, Focus

I am working on several To Do lists at one time. Life in this month of May is very full and busy. I need most of all to stay focussed on what truly matters and set priorities in my life. I am rewriting my To Do lists and then I am dedicating lots of time and energy to my very top time-line to do's.

The Homemaker Project by Maggie

Today I begin my Homemaker Project blog. I am so very excited and hope filled as I step onto this new road. I will journal every step I take in creating a home that is huggable, organized, decluttered and clean. I am following my dream have having a Haven Home for my large wonderful family.

The goal I am setting is to create my Haven Home in exactly one year. I begin now on this sunny Thursday morning on May the 10th, 2012. I will have achieved my goal by May the 10th, 2013. Then I will do the daily work of maintaining my home.

As I travel on the road to being an excellent homemaker and having a Haven Home I will share my experiences of joys and struggles. I will write of the wisdom I have gained and the blessings that come with this journey.

I have struggled as a housekeeper and a housewife. I tend to be disorganized, unmovitated and unfocused. Today is the day that all of this changes. It is said that a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. So today I begin anew with a heart full of hope, determination, motivation, and focus. I will be putting smiles on my family's faces and joy in all our hearts.

I am heading off to do the laundry and clean the kitchen, making my first step.
